Founded out of Karina Primelles and Mennlay Golokeh Aggrey’s mutual respect and experience with plant-medicine, they recognized the lack of herbal solutions for people with painful periods and cycles.

Mennlay Golokeh Aggrey
"The mainstream is finally catching up with the way myself and other cannabis advocates view herb. It's exciting to witness this evolution and I hope this translates into more access and less stigma for or the folks who need cannabis the most."
Mennlay brings 17 years of professional experience in the cannabis industry as an author and interdisciplinary—first intersecting herbs & women's health working for Whoopi Goldberg's brand. Her uniquely creative and investigative approach to cannabis has helped Xula become a premier plant-powered ally for menstruating bodies. Her work also explores herbs, foodways, and the connections between Africa and Latin America.
Mennlay's work been featured in Bloomberg, MoMA PS1, Washington Post, Vogue, and others.

Karina Primelles
“It is evident that we live in a world that promotes and rewards stress-filled lifestyles and this has brought severe consequences to our mental and physical health. Given my own personal journey to heal, I know that this is intimately tied with the state of our deteriorating menstrual health and truly believe that plant medicine can act as a countering force to help us find greater balance and heal conditions that are largely exacerbated by chronic stress.”
Karina’s journey to heal their endometriosis is what fuels their passion for Xula. While period pain may be the norm, Karina found a blatant lack of resources and solutions within the medical space. This led them to take their health in their own hands and seek out solutions outside of the mainstream framework. A researcher at heart, Karina found studies, books, and healers that show how plant medicine can provide real and deep healing for a wide range of menstrual issues.
Karina now firmly believes that menstrual health is a reflection of our overall mental and physical health; and through herbal medicine and key diet & lifestyle changes, it is possible to significantly alleviate and even heal a lot of serious menstrual conditions.

Our CBD comes from our own hemp farm, assuring the highest quality.
Xula farms is a women-led, family-owned hemp farm in Southern Oregon. We proudly produce terpene-rich hemp and process it in a GMP-certified facility only a few miles away from the farm. Our skilled and seasoned farmers have partnered with academics, scientists, and agricultural leaders to conduct research to better understand hemp cultivars in this emerging industry.

We strive to transition from organic to regenerative farming practices as it should be the norm. It would behoove us all to not only strip from our lands, but also care for it so that it thrives beyond our cultivation demands. In the meantime, our farm is pesticide-free, with limited dependence on plastics, is partnered with the local ecosystems of beneficial insects, and uses drip tape in efforts to reduce water waste.

The wisdom and expertise of Black, Latinx, and Indigenous people are foundational to cannabis culture and the industy.
Xula is a proud member of the anti-racist Floret Coalition.

The Floret Coalition is an anti-racist collective of small businesses in the cannabis and cannabis-adjacent space supporting and funding equity-oriented actions via monthly donations and social campaigns. Together, we raise funds and awareness for organizations prioritizing the needs of Black, Latinx, and Indigenous communities. These same communities bear the deepest scars of the misguided "war on drugs". To date, The Floret Coalition’s 130+ brand members have donated over $160,000 to partnered organizations. Join us.
